Performance requirements of mould aluminum plate:
Mould aluminum plate needs good mechanical properties, strong usability, easy processing, the most important thing is to have a certain degree of high strength heat treatment. According to the different uses of the mold and their respective characteristics, the mold aluminum sheet also needs special requirements such as corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance.
Among the 1-8 series aluminium sheets, the 5/6 series alloys with moderate hardness and 2/7 series alloys with strong hardness can be used for mould making. 5 series is an aluminum alloy with magnesium as the main alloy element, also known as magnesium aluminum alloy. Its alloy state mainly includes O state, HXX state and HXXX state. 6000 series aluminum sheets are extrusion aluminum alloys with Al-Mg-Si added. At present, more than 70% of extruded aluminum sheets in the world are produced with 6 series aluminum alloys.
The following alloy aluminum sheets have moderate strength, good corrosion resistance, weldability, and can be widely used in various industrial abrasive parts requiring a certain strength.
5083 aluminum plate belongs to hot rolled aluminum plate . Adopting continuous casting and rolling process, it has good formability, corrosion resistance, weldability, oxidation and deep processing performance. It is the best choice for aluminum sheet used in mould making.
The strength of 6061 aluminum sheet after heat treatment and pre-stretching can not be compared with that of 2XXX or 7XXX series, but its magnesium and silicon alloys have many characteristics, and have good machinability and excellent welding characteristics. And its electroplating, corrosion resistance, high toughness and no deformation after processing, material compact and defect-free and easy to polish, color film easy, oxidation effect is excellent.
The O and T4 states of 6082 aluminum plates are suitable for bending and forming occasions, and the T5 and T6 states are suitable for moulds with good machinability. 6082 aluminum plate has good corrosion resistance and wear resistance. It has good processability and excellent welding characteristics. Moreover, it has good electroplating property, strong corrosion resistance, high toughness, no deformation after processing and no defect in compact material. It can also be used in the products with high performance requirements such as tank car body.
